International Women's Day Celebration: How do we celebrate this Day?

Updated: Mar 21, 2023

Women are harnessing their experiences and potentials at Ayhay.

Every year on March 8, the celebration of the international women's day is marked by fellowship through discussion, exchange, testimonies, joy and sharing food between women parents, faculty and staff. The school has chosen "Supermoms applying Montessori at home" as a 2023 topic.

The Women's Day celebration is a event that has an organized schedule. Here is a preview of our schedule: tea and coffee time usually starts at 8:30 am, followed by prayer and worship. Then the talks and dialogue start and last about two hours, followed by Q&A sessions. It is in the tradition that the Head of the school ends by sharing a food recipe for mothers. The celebration usually ends at 12:30 pm.

For the 2023 Women's Day celebration, sub-topics are presented by mothers at school, followed by discussion and exchange: Applying Practical Life and Sensorial at home (by Auntie Najoro, Upper elementary guide) Applying Language Arts at home (by Andraina’s mom). Applying Mathematics and Science at home (by Johanna’s mom). Facing the challenges of applying Montessori at home as a multitask mother (by Alyssia’s mom). This is such a great way to both celebrate the International Women's Day and help one another along the journey of education at home.
